This will lock the sound button to that AV switch setting instead of the TV. Because this remote is RF (Radio Frequency).

This is done by putting the switch to AV1, or AV2 (which ever you use for your receiver) and holding the Mute and Select. As pointed out by one of our visitors, another working option is to press the numbers 9, 8 and 1 one after the other. However its worth it to try a hard reset, as sometimes the processor in the TV can simply have locked up. The standard configuration assumes your sound is through the TV.

Its still a manual process (entering codes) but it works just like before the on-screen menus are helpful in finding the needed codes to try.ģ) One last thing I had to spend some time figuring out is how to reprogram the RC66RX remote to let my Audio Receiver (Onkyo) own all volume up and down commands. This told me it could work.ī) I did NOT have to manually enter the the RF transmitter activation/deactivation mode to make this work (using code 961). I got one to partially work (I think 00099) but not all the features worked. Use the code lookup tool to find the 5-digit code.
Resetting the remote magically makes the RC66RX remote work with the HR54 STB Receiver.Ī) I tried entering all the 5-digit codes found on Directv's page manually but none worked. Depending on your setup, this may be automatic, or you may have to enter codes into your remote. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup and register the device. When your desired device displays, select it. Next, select Start and make sure the device you want to connect is turned on. Select Universal Remote on the Source screen.
